Refer a Friend Scheme Terms and Conditions

This £30 Refer a Friend Scheme (“Refer a Friend Scheme”) is subject to the following terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”). Under the CompareNI Refer a Friend Scheme, customers of CompareNI (the “Member”) are invited to earn Referral Rewards by inviting Referees (as described below) to find a car insurance policy through CompareNI.com. The following CompareNI.com Refer a Friend Scheme Terms apply to the Members and Referees (together referred to as the “Participants”) participating in the CompareNI.com Refer a Friend Scheme. By participating in the Refer a Friend Scheme the Participants are deemed to accept the Terms and Conditions.

This Refer a Friend Scheme is organised by CompareNI.com which is a trading style of Seopa Ltd who are a limited company registered in Northern Ireland. Registered number: NI046322. Registered office: SEOPA LTD, Floor 4, Blackstaff Studios, 8-10 Amelia Street, Belfast, BT2 7GS. (“CompareNI.com” or “We”).

This Refer a Friend Scheme is subject to availability and We reserve the right to substitute or remove the Refer a Friend Scheme at any time. We will try to give as much notice as We can when doing this. Any such amendments will be published on CompareNI.com. Please note that the Participants will need to have or set up a PayPal account in order to claim the Referral Reward as set out below. Information about the Referee: By taking part in the CompareNI Refer a Friend Scheme, the Referee acknowledges that CompareNI may at its sole discretion, share the Referee’s name, and status of the Eligible Sale in the Members’ user account to inform the Member about the status of the earned Referral Reward. CompareNI will not share the Car Insurance premium. If you do not want the Member to receive the information about you, please do not finalize the sale after having clicked on the Referral Link.

1. Eligibility

Participants, meaning Members and Referees, must be 17 years of age and older.

2. Referral reward

A Referral Reward can be earned as follows:

  • The Member shares the referral link as provided by CompareNI (the “Referral Link”). The Member is not entitled to use the Referral Link in or for paid promotions, including online advertising.
  • The Referee must be a brand new CompareNI Car Insurance customer with no prior Car Insurance purchases made through CompareNI.com.
  • A person, receiving the link (the “Referee”), purchases a car insurance policy through CompareNI.com, after clicking on the Referral Link.
  • The car insurance purchase by the Referee as part of the Eligible Sale is confirmed by the Insurance Provider to CompareNI.com;
  • The Member and the Referee have created a PayPal account linked to their email address used in the Refer a Friend Scheme and/or when obtaining a quote through CompareNI.com, in order to receive the reward; and
  • Members and Referees must at all times be different persons.

A Car Insurance sale is considered an “Eligible Sale” when it has been made by the Referee by clicking on the Referral Link and the car insurance policy is purchased through CompareNI.com after obtaining a quote. This is subject to the Insurance Provider confirming to CompareNI that a valid sale has taken place (which for the avoidance of doubt will not include cancellations). Validation of an Eligible Sale may take up to 90 days.

The Participants will not qualify for the £30 Referral Reward if the Referee purchases any other insurance policy through CompareNI.com other than car insurance.

There is no limit to the number of times the Member can earn their referral reward.

Each Referee may only make use of a Referral Link once to create an Eligible Sale, regardless if the Referee received or had access to separate Referral Links from different Members or had received a number of Referral Links from the same Members.

The CompareNI Refer a Friend Scheme can only be used for personal, non-commercial purposes.

CompareNI will, if it has determined in its sole discretion, that Member and Referee have complied with and fulfilled the CompareNI Refer a Friend Scheme Terms and Conditions, confirm that the Member and the Referee have earned the reward (the “Referral Reward”) as described in the invitation to participate in the CompareNI Refer a Friend Scheme. Participants of the Refer a Friend Scheme will receive the Referral Reward through PayPal automatically (provided the Participants have set up their own personal account).

It is the Participants’ responsibility to ensure that they have a correct PayPal account set up and linked to their email address used in the Refer a Friend Scheme and/or when obtaining a quote through CompareNI.com.

CompareNI will endeavour to send the Referral Reward via PayPal when due to the Participants within 90 days of the date an Eligible Sale takes place. However, as we rely on the accuracy of information provided by third party Insurance Providers to verify the Eligible Sale, we accept no responsibility for any delay caused.

The Participants will continue to receive emails from CompareNI about their referral status. Participants can unsubscribe from these emails at any time using the unsubscribe link on the email sent or by contacting CompareNI at: info@CompareNI.com

The Participants will be responsible for any taxes or charges, that may be arise due to the earning and payout of the Referral Reward.

By using the CompareNI Refer a Friend Scheme, Participants agree to the processing of their information by CompareNI and/or any CompareNI data processors.

3. Displaying Referral Links

The Member agrees to only send the Referral Link to individuals who do not object to the Member contacting them and the Member indemnifies CompareNI for (i) any loss of or damage to profit, revenue, savings, data, use, contract, goodwill or business or (ii) any indirect or consequential loss or damage, in each case howsoever caused or arising out of the Member’s communications with individuals (including unlawful forwarding and/or sharing of the Referral Link) regarding the Refer a Friend Scheme.

4. Miscellaneous

CompareNI retains the right to investigate the participation in the CompareNI Refer a Friend Scheme for any fraudulent activities and take any measures to end them. Referral Rewards earned through fraudulent activities or activities in violation of these CompareNI Refer a Friend Scheme terms will be null and void and repayment may be requested by CompareNI. You may stop participating in the Refer a Friend Scheme at any time by contacting CompareNI at info@CompareNI.com and providing sufficient information for us to verify your identity. CompareNI reserve the right to remove or not award the Referral Reward where: (i) either Participant have participated in the CompareNI Refer a Friend Scheme other than in compliance with these Terms and Conditions (ii) either Participant has used methods of promotion or referral, that CompareNI (in its sole discretion) consider inappropriate, which shall include, but not be limited to infringing or violating trademark or other rights of CompareNI. The Participants agree to refund the Referral Reward if found to be in breach of these Terms and Conditions. CompareNI may suspend, terminate or change the terms and requirements of the CompareNI Refer a Friend Scheme Terms at any time and for any reason. A Member should not engage in any misleading, deceptive, annoying, or harassing practices with respect to referrals. Responsibility is not accepted by CompareNI for applications damaged, lost, or delayed as a result of any computer hardware, network or software failure or any kind. Loss of the Referral Reward may result in the Participants being unable to claim their Referral Reward. CompareNI shall not be liable out of or in connection with this CompareNI Refer a Friend Scheme or (i) any loss of or damage to profit, revenue, savings, data, use, contract, goodwill or business or (ii) any indirect or consequential loss or damage, in each case howsoever caused or arising. CompareNI have appointed Referral Rock Inc. to help administer the Refer a Friend Scheme. Referral Rock will act as CompareNI’s data processor in this respect. PayPal is not a sponsor of the rewards or promotions or otherwise affiliated with the Refer a Friend Scheme. If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is or becomes invalid, unenforceable or non-binding, you shall remain bound by all other provisions hereof. In such event, such invalid provision shall nonetheless be enforced to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, and each participant will at least agree to accept a similar effect as the invalid, unenforceable or non-binding provision, given the contents and purpose of these Terms and Conditions.

To the extent permitted by law, the CompareNI Refer a Friend Scheme shall be exclusively governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Northern Ireland. Any disputes arising out or in connection with these terms shall exclusively be submitted to and dealt with by the competent court in Northern Ireland.
